  • Anna Valcour is a Ph.D. candidate in musicology at Brandeis University, an adjunct professor at Murray State University, an SVI-trained vocologist, and a former opera singer. Her dissertation examines how the operatic apprenticeship model has changed with the institutionalization of Young Artist Programs in the U.S., centering singers lived experiences. By visualizing (ab)uses of power, Anna's work contributes to care practices and advocates for change within the American opera industry praxis.
